We love Rob Sinskey. He's one of those renegade types. He has been breaking with the Napa norm for quite a while, first by growing Bordeaux grapes like Cabernet and Merlot in the cool, breezy climate of Los Carneros, and later by planting Alsatian varities like Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Muscat on a single windblow hillside called Scintilla Sonoma. His wines are always stunning, and he is a cool dude, so we are excited to have him here for a rare personal apparence. SOLD OUT

ESS hosts Brandon Baltzley in celebration of his new book Nine Lives. The 6-course dinner features dishes prepared by Brandon as well as our own Ryan Smith. Tickets include wine pairings and a signed copy of his book.
"Nine Lives is a compelling story about my industry and the perils of its least endearing ingredient, addiction. It's a crazy journey through the life of Brandon Baltzley, a phenomenally talented, self-taught, but self-destroying, chef. Poignant, heartbreaking, funny and ultimately victorious, it's a story about being happy with yourself, which is sometimes harder than any dish you can cook. Life, like food, is easy to fuck up." Hugh Acheson, James Beard Award winning chef and author of A New Turn in the South
